Norma R. Green

Norma R. Green, ActivitiesNorma Ruth Hobson Green is a native New Yorker who was educated in said city’s public school system. Married for almost fifty (50) years, she is the mother of two adult daughters and the proud grandmother of a school age boy and girl.

Mrs. Green has spent more than 35 years improving the lives of children, parents, teachers and administrators by serving in various capacities in the early childhood field. She was director of a day care facility for 18 years; early childhood teacher for over 14 years; participant of the Professional Association of Day Care Directors in both the active segment as well as the retirees segment.

She has provided direction and expertise by sharing her experience over the years as a Professional Workshop Leader and Grant Writer for various educational and entrepreneurial organizations and CBOs. Most recently she has been the independent consultant/mentor to a small group of graduate students who were preparing for the New York State Teacher’s Certification in Early Childhood.

Mrs. Norma Green is the recipient of an Applied Arts and Science degree in Marketing, a Baccalaureate in Early Childhood and Psychology, Masters of Science in Special Education/Early Childhood Administration and a certificate in School Administration and Supervision.

Her major affiliations are: For Kidney’s Sake, Board Member; Professional Association of Day Care Directors (Board Member); International Black Women Congress, Member; and the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc (Beta Omicron Chapter –Life Member.) She is also an active member of Spring-Gar Civic Association and St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
